County Christian School created a chapter of the National Junior Honor Society in 2012. Students from Middle School are chosen for NJHS based on their character, scholarship, and leadership. Five main purposes have guided chapters of NJHS from the beginning:
- to create enthusiasm for scholarship;
- to stimulate a desire to render service;
- to promote leadership;
- to encourage responsible citizenship;
- to develop character in the students of secondary schools.
These purposes also translate into the criteria used for membership selection in each local chapter. At CCS, the NJHS members serve the community by sponsoring fund raisers. Students raised money for and awareness of brain cancer by supporting the Smashing Walnuts fund; they also raised money for Autism Awareness. We are proud of our NJHS students and their contributions to both our school and the community.
